Atypisk, han Kvækerfinke (Atypical, Brambling)

Brambling with an unusual appearance, showing a large white, crescent-shaped cheek patch—an association with the Java Finch (also known as the Java Sparrow) and other species is not far-fetched. Nevertheless, this bird is indeed a male Brambling.

This is yet another example of how individuals arriving late in the migration often include birds that differ noticeably from the typical appearance.
