Aypisk dragt, Sjagger (Atypical colours, Fieldfare)

Fieldfare is no longer an uncommon species in eastern Denmark, and in some years we experience very large numbers moving through the region during migration. In certain winters, they also occur here in especially high numbers.

Birds arriving late in the migration often include individuals that appear different from the typical form. Presented here is one such example: slightly smaller than usual and showing a distinct colour variation, with a beige–Baileys-toned back. The underparts are not white either, but instead show a clear beige hue.
